Martin Pollack in conversation with Karl Schlögel
When we think of Russia nowadays, we feel shifted to the epoch of the Cold War. Putin wants to create a powerful Russia again, to split and weaken the EU. Russia should be respected around the globe again, but more to be feared. What are Putin’s goals when maintaining contact to European rights? Will his confrontation policy have chance of success or is the New Russia, like the Soviet Union, doomed to failure? Martin Pollack will discuss this and other questions with Karl Schlögel, expert on Russia as well as historian, author, publicist and commentator on political processes in Eastern Europe.
Philipp Hauß will read texts by the author’s latest book.
