Exhibition: It’s not over till it’s over.
A Complicity of Club Fortuna and Maja Štefančíková in Kunstverein Eisenstadt
The current exhibition It’s not over till it’s over – A Complicity of Club Fortuna and Maja Štefančíková – reflects the pandemic situation that has people around the world waiting ever more impatiently for things to resume their usual course. But the pandemic forces us to pause, to stand still, to wait.
With this most recent Complicity, Kunstverein Eisenstadt presents the result of the collaboration between the artist group Club Fortuna and Maja Štefančíková. Despite different ways of thinking and acting, they have developed a collective artwork that both rejects the capitalist imperative of individuality and establishes a feasible stage for new forms of behavior. Specially produced videos are put online that are related to the exhibition and in which an “oracle” answers questions using tarot cards.
The Vienna-based collective Club Fortuna consists of Xenia Lesniewski (b. 1985 in Frankfurt am Main), Nana Mandl (b. 1991 in Graz), and Sarah Sternat (b. 1988 in Graz). The Slovak artist Maja Štefančíková (b. 1978 in Bratislava) lives in Bratislava. The exhibition is curated by Mária Janušová and Barbara Horvath.
