Zoltán Bakay

Economic Researcher

In my work I usually provide data-based messages and information to anyone who seeks my advice. My current focus is on pension systems and the capital market, both of which I consider important prerequisites for securing the financial well-being of individuals. Apart from that I hope to contribute to various activities of the foundation through my research.

My professional life has been oscillating between research- and consulting-related activities. I started out as a business consultant, followed by six years at the University of Munich doing quantitative economic research. Later on, I ran my own research-based consulting business and was responsible for a research unit at DaimlerChrysler. I have been a researcher at Erste Group since 2007.

Even though it may sound a little bland, AI-related developments throughout the last year have really become a source of motivation for me in my everyday work. Thinking back to the way I used to work only a few years ago, I am amazed time and again how easy it has become to brainstorm, translate, or create material.
