My responsibilities in the Europe and Democracy division include the conception, implementation and support of projects, events and advocacy campaigns with the aim of promoting democracy and European integration. In addition, I also focus on the interconnection between democracy and financial well-being.

Before joining ERSTE Foundation in November 2024, I was a programme manager at the European Forum Alpbach, where I curated the foreign and security policy part of the programme. Previously, I had worked as a policy advisor in the European Parliament, where I was able to gain first-hand experience of European democracy.

The recent change of government in Poland shows that the trend towards increasing populism and authoritarianism is not irreversible. However, the Polish example also reminds us that it is relatively easy to destroy democracy, but much more difficult to restore it.
