Sabine Altmann
Library Assistant
As a library assistant, I help with the acquisition and cataloguing of new media, assist with research requests from library users and keep everything in order.
My professional life began in a bookshop in Graz. Right after completing my apprenticeship, I moved to Vienna. There, in addition to my job at a publishing house, I went to evening school to get my A-levels, after which I went on to study communications and political science at university.
Since 2004, I have worked at various subsidiaries of the Erste Group in the field of human resources, with a focus on training organisation. In 2021, I started working at the reception of ERSTE Foundation, where I was responsible for office management and event support.
»Reading is a boundless adventure of childhood,« said Astrid Lindgren, the author who paved the way for me to enter the world of books and inspired me with her stories. Books have become indispensable companions on my journey through life, quenching my thirst for knowledge, constantly broadening my horizon, and opening up new perspectives for me.
I am all the more happy that I am now returning to my professional roots and that books have now become my vocation.
